India Showcases Innovation in Energy Sector at 26th World Energy Congress

Rotterdam, Netherlands: India is taking center stage at the 26th World Energy Congress, currently underway in Rotterdam, Netherlands. From April 22nd to April 25th, India is showcasing its innovative technologies and power generation practices at the prestigious global event.

The India Pavilion at the Congress serves as a focal point for highlighting India’s commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable energy practices on the international platform. Participating Central Public Sector Enterprises under the Ministry of Power, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Ministry of Coal, and Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas are collectively presenting India’s leadership in the global energy transition.

The Pavilion was inaugurated on April 22, by Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary of the Ministry of Power, Government of India, and Reenat Sandhu, Ambassador of India to the Netherlands. The event witnessed the presence of high-ranking officials, including Srikant Nagulapalli, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Power, along with CMDs and senior officials from participating organizations such as NTPC, POWERGRID, PFC, REC, NHPC, SECI, IREDA, ONGC, and World Energy Council India.

During the inauguration, H.E. Rob Jetten, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Climate and Energy Policy of the Netherlands, and Dr. Angela Wilkinson, Secretary General and CEO of the World Energy Council, visited the India Pavilion. They expressed keen interest in India’s efforts towards energy transition and commended the unique initiatives undertaken by member organizations.

The India Pavilion serves as a platform for highlighting India’s strides in renewable energy, sustainable practices, and technological innovations in the energy sector. It underscores India’s commitment to addressing global energy challenges and fostering international cooperation in achieving a sustainable energy future.
