New Delhi: As India aspires to become a developed nation (Viksit Bharat) by 2047, embracing emerging technologies will be crucial in accelerating economic and societal transformation. Recognizing this, NITI Aayog has launched the NITI Frontier Tech Hub (NITI-FTH) to position India at the forefront of global technological advancements.
The newly established Frontier Tech Action Tank aims to enhance India’s readiness in adopting frontier technologies and integrating them into various sectors. It will act as a bridge between industry, academia, and government, fostering early awareness of technological trends and their implications. By proactively investing in research, innovation, and global collaborations, India seeks to ensure that it stays ahead of the curve rather than merely catching up with global developments.
As part of its initiatives, NITI-FTH, in partnership with the Data Security Council of India, released a strategic paper on Quantum Computing and its impact on national security. The paper highlights the potential risks and opportunities of this rapidly evolving technology and lays the groundwork for India’s preparedness in the quantum computing landscape.
NITI Aayog envisions a human-centric approach to technological development, ensuring that emerging innovations benefit both humanity and the environment. The insights from the strategic paper will contribute to shaping India’s policies and strategic direction in harnessing quantum computing for security, governance, and industrial applications.
With frontier technologies advancing at an unprecedented pace, initiatives like NITI-FTH mark a significant step in India’s journey toward Viksit Bharat 2047, ensuring that the country is not just a participant but a leader in the global technological revolution.
