India A Clinches Second Unofficial Test with Innings Win Against England Lions

Ahmedabad: India A asserted their dominance in the second unofficial Test against England Lions, securing an innings win by dismissing the visitors for 321 on the final day. Resuming at 304/8, England Lions could not avoid the inevitable, and Arshdeep Singh’s left-arm pace played a pivotal role in breaking a stubborn 61-run stand for the ninth wicket. Oliver Robinson, the top-scorer for the innings with 85, fell to Arshdeep Singh. Yash Dayal took the final wicket, ensuring India A’s comprehensive victory.

With this win, India A takes a 1-0 lead in the series. The third and final unofficial Test is scheduled to start on February 1 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Saurabh Kumar’s remarkable fifer on the third day had set the stage for India A’s dominant position in the match. England Lions, with Oliver Robinson’s unbeaten 84, made an effort to avoid an innings defeat but fell short. Despite the spirited resistance, the visitors ended their innings at 321, trailing by 33 runs.

Sarfaraz Khan’s outstanding 161 in India A’s first innings had paved the way for their commanding lead. Supported by notable performances from Washington Sundar, Devdutt Padikkal, and Saurabh Kumar, India A posted 493 in their first innings, taking a substantial lead of 341 runs.

The series now stands in favor of India A, who showcased a comprehensive team effort in the second unofficial Test.
