IMA Files Police Complaint Against Ramdev

New Delhi: The Indian Medical Association (IMA) on Thursday filed a police complaint against Yoga Guru Ramdev at IP Estate Police Station in New Delhi for his remark on allopathy medicine and treatment.

On Wednesday IMA, Uttarakhand had also slapped a Rs 1000 crore defamation notice on Ramdev for his remark on the treatment method being practiced in allopathy for treating covid patients.

IMA has sought an FIR against Ramdev under relevant provisions of the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897, Disaster Management Act, 2005, Indian Penal Code, 1860, and other relevant provisions.

In its complaint, the IMA stated that Baba Ramdev had committed cognizable offenses and is liable to be prosecuted under all applicable and relevant provisions of the law, including Section 3 of the Epidemic Diseases Act 1897.

Recently, a video of Ramdev has gone viral in which he questioned the allopathy medicinal practice. Describing allopathy as a stupid science, he stated that lakh of Covid died and will die after allopathy treatment. He even claimed that ten thousand doctors died even after taking Covid vaccines and allopathy treatment.

IMA has also written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging to take strong action against Ramdev under sedition charges over his statement.
