IGNCA and Sansad TV Forge Alliance to Promote Indian Art and Culture

New Delhi: In a significant move aimed at bringing Indian art and culture closer to the masses, the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) and Sansad TV have entered into a collaborative agreement. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to facilitate the telecast of IGNCA-produced programs on Sansad TV and allow Sansad TV access to IGNCA’s rich cultural archives.

Key Signatories and Participants

The MoU was signed by Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi, Member Secretary of IGNCA, and Rajat Punhani, Chief Executive Officer of Sansad TV. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Priyanka Mishra, Director of IGNCA, heads of all divisions of IGNCA, Sumant Narayan, Joint Secretary (Administration) of Sansad TV, and Editor Shyam Kishore Sahay.

Objectives and Benefits of the Agreement

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi expressed his delight, stating, “It is a matter of great happiness that this agreement has been reached between Sansad TV and IGNCA. Through this collaboration, we can jointly produce and showcase a wide range of cultural programs. The dissemination of art and cultural heritage is essential for its preservation and appreciation. Sansad TV, with its extensive reach and diverse audience, provides an ideal platform to showcase the rich heritage curated by IGNCA.”

Rajat Punhani, CEO of Sansad TV, highlighted the significance of the partnership, stating, “Under this agreement, Sansad TV will telecast IGNCA’s programs, thereby bringing the richness of Indian art and culture to our viewers. Additionally, we look forward to utilizing IGNCA’s archival content to enrich our programming further.”

Future Prospects and Cultural Enrichment

Sumant Narayan, Joint Secretary (Administration) of Sansad TV, underscored the agreement’s importance, emphasizing, “This collaboration marks a significant step towards promoting and preserving our cultural heritage through mass media. It aligns perfectly with Sansad TV’s mission to showcase diverse facets of Indian culture to a global audience.”

The agreement between IGNCA and Sansad TV is expected to foster greater awareness and appreciation of India’s artistic and cultural diversity. It opens avenues for producing informative and educational content that reflects the country’s rich heritage, traditions, and artistic expressions.
