
Bhubaneswar: Six Indian Administrative Service (IAS) probationers embarked on an exposure visit to the Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD) Department in Bhubaneswar today. The visit aimed to familiarize the probationers with the department’s activities and programs aimed at empowering persons with disabilities (PwDs).
Led by senior officials from the SSEPD Department, including Bishnupada Sethi, Principal Secretary, the probationers engaged in discussions and exchanged views on various initiatives undertaken by the department. They were briefed on the department’s efforts to enhance social security and promote the empowerment of PwDs through a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation.
During the visit, the probationers had the opportunity to explore the State Institute for Empowerment of PwDs (SIEP), the State Institute of Special Education and Research (SISER), and the State Institute for Disabilities Rehabilitation (SIDR). These institutions are instrumental in implementing programs and providing services aimed at the holistic development and rehabilitation of PwDs in the state.
