Himanta Biswa Sarma Will Be Assam’s New CM

Guwahati: Himanta Biswa Sarma is all set to be the next Chief Minister of Assam. Sarma will be the 15th chief minister of the state. It has been decided after a preliminary party meeting held at New Delhi.
A legislature party meeting was held on Sunday where his name has been proposed by outgoing CM Sarbananda Sonowal & Assam BJP President Ranjeet Kumar Dass. The meeting also attended BJP leaders BL Santosh, Baijayant Jay Panda and Ajay Jamwal.

Sarma was the health minister in the Sonowal Government. He joined BJP in 2015 after quitting Congress party.

Meanwhile, Sarbananda Sonowal has resigned from the Chief Minister post.

The swearing-in ceremony will be held on Monday.
