Heat Wave Conditions Intensify in Odisha: IMD Issues Orange Warning till April 28

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange Warning for several districts of Odisha, signaling the likelihood of intensified heat wave conditions until April 28.

The warning spans across 29 districts of the state, with predictions indicating a significant rise in maximum temperatures by 4-6°C over the next 4 to 5 days.

Orange Warning: Heat wave to severe heat wave conditions expected at one or two places in Gajapati and Ganjam districts.

Yellow Warning: Heat wave conditions likely in Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Angul, Nayagarh, Bolangir, Boudh, Nuapada, Kandhamal, Khurda, Cuttack, and Dhenkanal districts.
April 26

Orange Warning: Heat wave conditions expected in several districts including Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Nuapada, Bolangir, Deogarh, Boudh, Sonepur, Malkangiri, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Rayagada.
Yellow Warning: Heat wave conditions anticipated in Khurda, Ganjam, Gajapati, and Nayagarh districts.

Orange Warning: Heat wave conditions expected in multiple districts with isolated pockets of severe heat wave conditions in Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Khurda, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Nuapada, Sonepur, Bolangir, and Kalahandi.

Yellow Warning: Heat wave conditions likely in other districts including Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, and others.
