Government Extends Registration for M2M and WPAN/WLAN Services

New Delhi: The Department of Telecommunications (DoT), under the Ministry of Communications (MoC), has expanded the registration scope for Machine-to-Machine (M2M) and Wireless Personal Area Network/Wireless Local Area Network (WPAN/WLAN) services to include all entities operating in these domains.

The revised directive encompasses a broad spectrum of business entities, including companies, government departments/organizations, partnership firms, Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs), institutions, undertakings, proprietorship firms, societies, and trusts engaged in M2M service provisioning and WPAN/WLAN Connectivity Provisioning. These entities are now urged to complete the registration process with DoT using the user-friendly and transparent online platform available at SaralSanchar portal (https://saralsanchar.gov.in).

It is crucial for businesses falling under these categories to adhere to the registration requirement promptly. Failure to comply may result in the withdrawal or disconnection of telecom resources acquired from Authorized Telecom Licensees.

The extension of registration aims to streamline the regulatory framework, enhance accountability, and ensure the smooth functioning of M2M and WPAN/WLAN services within the telecommunications landscape. Businesses operating in these sectors are encouraged to initiate the registration process without delay to avoid any potential disruptions. The online registration process through the SaralSanchar portal offers a convenient and efficient means for entities to fulfill this regulatory obligation.
