Gajendra Singh Shekhawat Assumes Office as Union Minister of Culture

New Delhi: Gajendra Singh Shekhawat took charge as the Union Minister of Culture today, marking a significant milestone in the government’s commitment to preserving and promoting India’s rich cultural heritage.

Expressing his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for entrusting him with this crucial portfolio, Shekhawat emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting the vibrance of Bharateeyata both within the country and on the global stage.

In his address to the media, Shekhawat underscored the government’s efforts to transition from India to Bharat, shedding colonial legacies and reinstating the nation’s glorious cultural heritage under the visionary leadership of PM Narendra Modi. He highlighted the pivotal role of culture in shaping India’s soft power, manifesting through various art forms, music, dance, textiles, and more.

“As we navigate through this Amrit kaal (era of rejuvenation), let us work together to strengthen our cultural fabric and make culture a strong thread in weaving Viksit Bharat (developed India),” Shekhawat remarked, emphasizing the collective responsibility in preserving and promoting India’s cultural diversity.

Shekhawat’s assumption of office signals a renewed focus on cultural preservation and promotion, aligning with the government’s vision of a vibrant and culturally rich India both at home and abroad.
