
Odisha government on Sunday announced free Covid vaccination for people aged 18-45 years.
The state government will bear the entire cost of vaccinations. For this 10.34 lakh doses of covaxin and 377.00 lakh doses of covishield have been ordered by the state government. Rs 2000 cr will be invested to vaccinate around 2 crore people in the state. From May 1 people above 18 would be vaccinated across the state.
Addressing the people of Odisha, Patnaik appealed people to cooperate as the virus is infecting thousands of people. He urged everyone to wear face masks, maintain social distancing, wash hand regularly and use hand sanitizer. He even requested everyone not to venture unnecessarily and stay home.
