Kathmandu: Nepal’s Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has apprehended Ram Bahadur Bomjon, 33, the man once celebrated as a potential Buddha reincarnation, on charges of rape and sexual abuse. The arrest took place on Tuesday in a residence on the outskirts of Kathmandu, where Bomjon had been evading authorities.
The former ‘Buddha boy,’ who gained international fame in 2005 for his reported ability to engage in motionless meditation without sustenance for extended periods, is now facing serious legal allegations.
