Former surrendered Maoist Couple ties Knot in Kalahandi Odisha

Bhawanipatna: Ramdas and Kalamdei, the Maoist rebel who surrendered years back tied the knot in Reserve Police premises in Bhawanipatna of Kalahandi district on Friday.

Kesab Veladi alias Ramdas who was an Area Committee Member(ACM) cadre surrendered before Kalahandi police inFebraury2020 and was provided all rehabilitation benefits as per the state government’s Surrender and Rehabilitation policy. while Kalamdei Majhi alias Gita surrendered with Kalahandi police in January 2016 and was also rehabilitated.

Ramdas was a member of the banned CPI (Maoists) KKBN division for almost nine years before surrendering to the police. While Kalamdei was a member of the BGN division of banned Maoists for almost a year before her surrender.

Kalahandi Police organised the marriage ceremony after the couple gave their consent for marriage.

The marriage was solemnised as per Hindu tradition at a temple on the premises in presence of police personnel, including SP Dr. Saravana Vivek M, Commandant CRPF 64th Battalion Biblab Sarkar, and DIG SWR Koraput Rajesh Pandit.
