First World Odia Language Conference Inaugurated in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik officially inaugurated the inaugural World Odia Language Conference at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar today. Addressing the gathering during the opening ceremony, the Chief Minister emphasized the pivotal role of language as a unifying force, referring to it as the “crown of the nation” and a mantra of unity.

Acknowledging the historical significance of the Odia language as a classical language, Patnaik expressed his commitment to working collaboratively for its enhancement. He highlighted the importance of understanding the language’s history to pave the way for a prosperous future. The Chief Minister pledged the government’s support for any resolution proposed during the conference for the betterment of the Odia language.

The three-day conference attracted participation from numerous writers, literary figures, and renowned linguists from across the country and abroad. Culture Minister Ashwini Patra, esteemed literary figures Sitakant Mahapatra and Pratibha Ray graced the stage during the event.

The conference, spanning three days, will feature 16 sessions, including a special session dedicated to Jagannath consciousness. The event aims to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Odia language, promoting its rich cultural heritage and linguistic diversity.
