Bhubaneswar: It seems like controversies are not settling in the life of actor turned politician and Kendrapada MP Anubhav Mohanty. While he has been in the spotlight for his relationship with his wife Varsha Priyadarshini and their divorce case, his father is now in news for forgery.
The Odisha government on Wednesday has withdrawn extra pensionary benefits of Anubhav’s father Abhaya Kumar Mohanty for submitting a fake Refresher Course certificate. On the basis of the certificate Abhaya k Mohanty was promoted as Reader in English in 1997.
The Higher Education Department has cancelled his promotion for forgery. The higher education department submitted a notification on Monday. “An enquiry was conducted by the Deputy Director who submitted his enquiry report on dated 29.08.2009 with a finding that the Refresher Course certificate of the petitioner for the period from 01.12.1993 to 28.12.1993, purportedly issued by Berhampur University was a fake and manufactured one,” the department said.
His promotional arrear was stopped in 2009. In 2010, Abhaya Mohanty filed a petition in the Orissa High Court seeking payment of his arrear salary as Reader and pensionary benefits in the revised pay scale.
