Bhubaneswar: The J30 Bhubaneswar Tennis Tournament reached its semifinal stage with captivating matches and unexpected outcomes, showcasing the talent and determination of the players. Spectators were treated to thrilling displays of tennis prowess as the semifinals unfolded on Thursday.

In the Boys Singles category, Debasis Sahoo (IND) secured a hard-fought victory over Aashravya Mehra (IND) in a closely contested match, winning 7-6(5), 1-6, 7-6(3). Meanwhile, Praneel Sharma (IND) displayed resilience to defeat 2nd Seed Shanker Heisnam (IND) with a score of 3-6, 6-2, 7-5, securing his spot in the finals.

The Girls Singles semifinals witnessed Prisha Nikhil Shinde (IND) defeating top-seeded Laxmisiri Dandu (IND) with a score of 7-5, 6-3, advancing to the championship match. Priyanka Rana (USA) staged a remarkable comeback against Saumya Ronde (IND), winning 3-6, 6-0, 6-1, to book her place in the finals.

In the Girls Doubles category, Laxmisiri Dandu (IND) and Priyanka Rana (USA) displayed stellar teamwork to overcome Ishi Maheshwari and Saumya Ronde (IND) with a score of 1-6, 6-1, [10-7]. Aakruti Sonkusare Narayan Sonkusare and Sohini Sanjay Mohanty (IND) dominated Aishwarya Jadhav and Mahika Khanna (IND) with a score of 6-0, 6-1, securing their spot in the finals.

The Boys Doubles semifinals were fiercely contested, with Ojas Mehlawat and Adhiraj Thakur (IND) edging past Aditya Mor and Praneel Sharma (IND) with a score of 7-6(5), 6-7(1), [10-5]. Rohith Hari Balaji Gobina Gobinath and Thirumurugan Viswanathan (IND) showed grit to defeat Pradyumna Singh Tomar and Om Verma (IND) with a score of 5-7, 7-6(4), [10-7].

As the tournament heads into the finals, tennis enthusiasts can anticipate more thrilling matches and outstanding performances. The finals, scheduled for tomorrow, promise to deliver exciting tennis action across all categories.

Boys Singles Final, Girls Singles Final & Boys Doubles Final: Starting at 8 am on Centre Court, Court 1 & Court 4 respectively.

Girls Doubles Final: Starting at 3 pm, followed by the prize distribution ceremony at 5 pm on the centre court.
