Educational tour for Visually impaired students held at Odisha State Museum

Bhubaneswar: Giving exposure to visually impaired students to know the ancient art, culture, and history, an educational tour was organised by the Center for Youth and Social Welfare (CYSW) at Odisha State Museum.

Over 40 visually impaired students from Buxi Jagbandhu Autonomous College, Odisha Association for the Blind, Ravenshaw Junior College, and Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, Bhubaneswar attended the tour.

The students visited Paik Rebellion audio visual gallery, art gallery, Archeology gallery, Arms and armour gallery and accessed the exhibits through touch sense.

General secretary of CYSW, Nituranjan Dash, said, “We need to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 2030) with emphasis on accessibility and inclusion efforts.” 

CYSW has organised similar educational tours earlier at Konark Temple & Museum, Mukteshwar Temple, State Museum, Baital Temple, Parshurameshwar Temple and Purbasha Folk & Tribal Art Museum, Ganjam.  

Dash urged that “Everyone needs to work together for making a society inclusive by promoting cultural access for the people need special assistance”.
