Educational Excursion Marks a Milestone for Tribal Students from North East States

New Delhi:  The National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) orchestrated an enlightening educational excursion for 255 students and teachers from Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) in three North Eastern states – Manipur, Sikkim, and Tripura. The five-day journey, from 8th to 12th February 2024, aimed to provide students with a holistic learning experience beyond the classroom.

In collaboration with Rashtrapati Bhawan, NESTS granted these students a unique opportunity to explore the cultural and historical richness of the capital city. On the inaugural day, the students visited Rashtrapati Museum and Amrit Udyan, an event coordinated with the highest office in the country.

The visit to the iconic Rashtrapati Bhawan and Amrit Udyan proved to be a landmark moment for the tribal students, offering them a first-hand experience of the grandeur of Delhi and the historical significance embedded in these landmarks. The students were particularly impressed by the beauty of Amrit Udyan, and the tour provided a valuable educational opportunity, enriching their understanding of India’s diverse cultural heritage.

One of the highlights of the excursion was a memorable interaction with the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, which left the students inspired and motivated. This encounter added a personal touch to the educational journey, allowing the students to connect with the highest office of the country.

Participation in the “Vividhta ka Amrit Mahotsav” at the President’s House was another significant aspect of the excursion. EMRS students from Sikkim, Manipur, and Tripura not only immersed themselves in the North East Festival but also showcased their talents during the inauguration function of Vividhta ka Amrit Mahotsav. Shri Asit Gopal, Commissioner, NESTS, and other officers from NESTS witnessed this cultural extravaganza.

The excursion, extending until February 12, included visits to Aadi Mahotsav and various places of scientific, cultural, and artistic importance. The initiative was designed to offer the students diverse experiences that contribute to their overall development, aligning with the vision of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat.

The event aimed not only to impart knowledge but also to foster camaraderie among students from different states, encouraging them to share their unique experiences. This educational excursion, with its mix of cultural exploration and talent showcase, has undoubtedly left an indelible mark on the students, providing them with cherished memories and a broader perspective on the rich tapestry of India’s heritage.
