
Patiala: Sprinter Dutee Chand again misses the mark to qualify for Tokyo Olympics next month.
Dutee secured fourth position by clocking 11.62 seconds in the 100-metre sprint at the 60th National Inter-State Athletics Championships held in Patiala, Punjab on Saturday.
The qualifying time for the Tokyo Olympics is 11.15 seconds.
On June 21, Dutee set a new national record in women’s 100 metre sprint event with 11.17 seconds at the Indian Grand Prix-4 organized by the Athletics Federation of India in Patiala.
She still has a chance to qualify for the Olympics on the basis of world ranking.
On missing her chance, Dutee said, “ I still have a chance to qualify as per the ranking and I am sure to qualify.”
