New Delhi: The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) achieved a significant milestone by conducting four successful flight trials of the high-speed expendable aerial target ‘ABHYAS’ at the integrated test range in Chandipur, Odisha, between January 30 and February 2.
The Ministry of Defence reported that the trials were carried out with four distinct mission objectives, utilizing an enhanced and robust configuration. The single booster, designed by Advanced Systems Laboratory, Hyderabad, played a crucial role in ensuring reduced launch acceleration.
The trials successfully met mission objectives, including the safe release of the booster, launcher clearance, and achieving the required end-of-launch velocity. Key parameters such as endurance, speed, manoeuvrability, altitude, and range were effectively validated during the flight trials, marking a significant achievement for DRDO.
