DoSJE Inaugurates First Batch of Rashtriya Karmayogi Jan Seva Programme

New Delhi: The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment (DoSJE), under the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, has launched the first batch of the Rashtriya Karmayogi Jan Seva Programme, a capacity-building initiative aimed at fostering a stronger sense of Seva Bhav (spirit of service) among government officials.

The programme, which commenced on March 5, 2025, at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi, will run until March 11, 2025. It focuses on enhancing problem-solving skills, teamwork, and citizen-focused governance through four short training sessions, each lasting approximately 1.5 hours. Developed by the Capacity Building Commission, the initiative seeks to equip public servants with a solution-oriented approach, ensuring compassionate and effective citizen engagement.

Inaugurating the programme, DoSJE Secretary Amit Yadav underscored the fundamental purpose of government service, urging officials to reconnect with their passion for bringing meaningful change to people’s lives.

“Many of us enter public service with a strong desire to make a difference. However, daily routines and limited citizen interaction can sometimes make us lose sight of that purpose. This programme serves as a reminder that every action we take as public servants contributes to the nation’s progress,”  Yadav stated.

He further emphasized that citizen interaction lies at the heart of governance, and the way officials engage with the public, address concerns, and resolve issues plays a pivotal role in effective administration.

Speaking on the philosophy behind the programme’s name, he added, “‘Karmayogi’ signifies our duty—towards our nation, our department, our citizens, and ourselves. This initiative is an opportunity for every officer to develop leadership skills, adopt a solution-oriented approach, and embrace Seva Bhav in their roles.”

The training sessions are being led by Master Trainers – Kajal Singh (Director) and Puspendra Singh (Deputy Secretary), DoSJE, with support from Shipra Singh (Program Coordinator), Capacity Building Commission. The sessions have seen active participation from officials, who engaged in discussions on their roles and responsibilities within DoSJE and its impact on nation-building.
