DGMO Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai Reviews Security and Border Infrastructure During Manipur Visit

Imphal: Director General Military Operations (DGMO) of the Indian Army, Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, visited Manipur on February 24 and 25 to assess the security situation along the Indo-Myanmar Border (IMB) and review ongoing border infrastructure developments in the state.

During his visit, Lt Gen Ghai met with Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, State Security Advisor, Chief Secretary, and Director General of Police, engaging in discussions focused on operational preparedness and strategic border management. He carried out a thorough assessment of the security dynamics in Manipur, particularly in fringe areas, while emphasizing the importance of a coordinated ‘whole of government approach’ to address security challenges.

The discussions centered on stabilizing the prevailing security situation in the state, enhancing border management, and strengthening critical security infrastructure along the IMB. Lt Gen Ghai’s visit underscored the collaborative efforts between the military and state authorities to implement strategic measures for ensuring stability and safeguarding the welfare of Manipur’s residents.
