Deputy CM Prabhati Parida Urges Bank and Mobile Number Linkage to Speed Up Subhadra Yojana Payments

Bhubaneswar: Deputy Chief Minister Prabhati Parida has intervened to address the grievances of women who have yet to receive funds under the Subhadra scheme, launched in May 2024 to provide financial support of ₹50,000 over five years to married women in Odisha. The scheme aims to empower women economically, but delays due to unlinked bank accounts and mismatches in Aadhaar, bank account, and mobile numbers have left around 5 lakh applicants without their benefits.

Parida proposed a straightforward solution to expedite the process: applicants should link a single mobile number to their bank account to streamline verifications. She urged women facing issues to visit their banks and resolve the linkage to ensure they receive the scheme’s benefits.

To ensure comprehensive coverage, a government team will begin village visits after March 24 to verify and resolve any outstanding issues. Anganwadi workers will also play a key role by personally verifying applications to reach all eligible women.
