Odisha Govt Hands Over PMAY-U 2.0 Work Orders to 61 Beneficiaries in Baripada

Baripada/Bhubaneswar: Sixty-one urban families in Odisha moved a step closer to owning permanent homes as the State Government on Friday distributed work orders under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) – PMAY-U 2.0 at a special programme in Baripada.

Housing and Urban Development Minister Dr. Krushna Chandra Mahapatra handed over the work orders to the beneficiaries and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that every eligible family has access to safe and affordable housing.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister said the government is working towards fulfilling the dream of home ownership for poor and middle-class families in urban areas. He noted that providing secure housing remains a key priority under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, with efforts focused on ensuring that no eligible beneficiary is left out.

Dr. Mahapatra said a permanent house not only provides shelter but also enhances the dignity, security and quality of life of families. Congratulating the beneficiaries, he expressed confidence that the new homes would bring greater stability and improved living conditions.

Highlighting the significance of PMAY-U 2.0, the Minister said the scheme is contributing to inclusive urban development by extending housing support to deserving families in a transparent and time-bound manner. He added that the initiative is also helping strengthen the socio-economic status of urban households by providing them with a secure place to live.

The programme was attended by Baripada Municipality Chairperson Krushnanda Mohanty, Vice-Chairperson Simarani Das, Executive Officer Deviprasad Rout, councillors, senior municipal officials, local public representatives and the beneficiary families.
