Deputy CM Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo Reviews Preparations for ‘Krushi Odisha 2025’

Bhubaneswar: Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment and Energy, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, chaired a high-level meeting at Lok Seva Bhavan today to review the preparations for the upcoming ‘Krushi Odisha 2025’.

The three-day event is scheduled to take place from January 3 to 5 at the Baramunda Biju Patnaik Ground in Bhubaneswar. The grand celebration of agriculture and innovation will feature 12 technical sessions, each accommodating up to 200 participants, along with 250 exhibition stalls showcasing advancements in the agricultural sector. An estimated 10,000 farmers from across Odisha are expected to attend, highlighting the state’s commitment to agricultural development.

Additionally, the Water Resources Department will observe the Pani Panchayat Fortnight as part of the event, focusing on water resource management for farmers to ensure sustainable irrigation practices.

During the meeting, Singh Deo emphasized the importance of registering farmers in the state’s Agristack database. Camps will be organized statewide to facilitate this registration process, with support available through Janseva Kendras. To encourage participation, farmers will receive Rs. 10 per registration. This database aims to create an integrated repository of farmer information to support developmental initiatives and streamline government schemes for the agricultural sector.

The meeting also included discussions on the Agriculture Department’s proposed budget for the financial year 2025-26. Officials deliberated on the allocation of funds for key projects to bolster the agricultural sector in the state, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to support farmers’ needs and enhance productivity.

The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Director of Agriculture Prem Chandra Chaudhary, Director of Horticulture Nikhil Pawan Kalyan, and other senior officials. Together, they discussed various initiatives aimed at strengthening Odisha’s agricultural framework and empowering farmers across the state.
