Delhi Zoo Tests Nano Bubble Technology to Purify Pond Water for Aquatic Animals

New Delhi: Union Minister of State for Forest, Environment, and Climate Change, Kirti Vardhan Singh, on Tuesday inaugurated the use of Nano Bubble Technology at the National Zoological Park, Delhi. The innovative technology aims to clean and purify pond water, ensuring a healthier environment for aquatic animals.

The technology, introduced as a 15-day trial, has the potential to remove algae and similar growths from dirty pond water. If the trial proves successful, it will be adopted for regular use in the zoo.

Speaking at the launch, Singh emphasized the importance of maintaining clean water for the well-being of aquatic creatures. “Clean water is essential for preventing foul smells, algae buildup, and discoloration caused by pollutants in pond water. This technology will significantly improve water quality, benefiting both the animals and their habitats,” he said.

The launch event saw the presence of key officials, including National Zoological Park Director Sanjeet Kumar, senior officers from the Ministry, and Anand Kapoor from the Nano Bubble Company. Their combined efforts underscore the commitment to innovative solutions in wildlife conservation and zoo management.

Nano Bubble Technology works by introducing micro-sized bubbles into the water, which effectively clean and oxygenate it. This process is expected to provide a more natural and healthier environment for the zoo’s aquatic inhabitants, enhancing their overall well-being.
