Bhubaneswar: The Regional Center of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar has forecasted a notable increase in day temperatures across the state in the coming week.
According to the IMD, most parts of Odisha are expected to experience a rise in day temperatures by 8°C to 10°C over the next few days. Some interior and coastal regions may even see temperatures soaring up to 40°C by the end of March. Additionally, districts including Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, and Gajapati are likely to witness thunderstorms accompanied by rainfall today.
While the recent spell of continuous rainfall has led to a considerable drop in temperatures, certain areas in western Odisha, such as Boudh and Titlagarh, are anticipated to record the highest temperatures in the state in the coming days. Day temperatures in districts like Jharsuguda, Sonepur, Bolangir, Rayagada, and Malkangiri are projected to reach 38°C to 39°C in the upcoming days.
Moreover, the IMD has also predicted a rise in night-time temperatures (minimum temperatures) by 3°C to 5°C across most parts of Odisha over the next week. This shift in weather patterns indicates a transition towards warmer temperatures following the recent spell of rainfall.
