Daspalla Railway Station Welcomes New PRS Counter

Bhubaneswar: During the Minister of Railways, Communications, and Electronics & Information Technology’s visit to Daspalla in the first week of January 2024, local residents and public representatives urged the establishment of a Passenger Reservation System (PRS) Counter at Daspalla Railway Station for the convenience of booking reserved railway tickets. In a commendable turn of events, Minister Vaishnaw not only assured the community of this facility but also officially announced its implementation during his speech.

The fulfillment of this promise by the Railway Minister is indeed a positive development. The introduction of the PRS Counter at Daspalla Railway Station is poised to bring substantial benefits to the residents of Nayagarh, Boudh, and Cuttack Districts, particularly those in the interior areas.

The expeditious response from the Railway administration, ensuring the setup of the PRS Counter within a mere 10 days, reflects a commitment to enhancing accessibility and convenience for the local population. This new facility will significantly simplify the process of booking reserved railway tickets for residents, eliminating the need for them to undertake journeys to distant cities.

The recent inauguration of the Daspalla Railway Station Building, coupled with the extension of four trains to Daspalla and the dedication of the Nuagaon-Daspalla Rail Section, signifies a positive stride in augmenting rail connectivity and services for the region. These advancements contribute to the overall enhancement of transportation infrastructure and connectivity, bringing tangible benefits to both residents and visitors in the area.
