Cuttack: A new bone bank was inaugurated today at the Department of Orthopaedics at SCB Medical College and Hospital, marking a significant milestone in medical advancements for the region. The bone bank is set to provide crucial support for orthopaedic surgeries, allowing preserved bones to be implanted in patients in need.

The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling, who expressed hope that the bone bank would pioneer innovative treatments, especially in complex orthopaedic procedures. “This facility will offer immense benefits, particularly for patients who are in dire need of bone implants,” he said, acknowledging the critical role the bank will play in improving healthcare services.

Local MLA Souvik Biswal, who was the guest of honour, highlighted the bone bank’s potential to transform care for disadvantaged patients. He emphasized that the new facility will provide much-needed relief to patients who cannot afford costly treatments.
