Cuttack Heritage Walks Conducts 68th Walk, Unveils “Vignettes of Baliyatra” Photo Book

Cuttack: Cuttack Heritage Walks (CHW) celebrated a landmark achievement with the successful completion of its 68th heritage walk on Sunday. The event, which attracted around 30 history enthusiasts, was marked by the unveiling of a photo book titled Vignettes of Baliyatra, capturing the grandeur of Baliyatra 2024.

The walk began at the historic Barabati Fort premises, where participants delved into the fort’s storied past. CHW member Srikant Singh delivered a compelling oral presentation, detailing the fort’s construction, its historical significance, and its gradual destruction over the years.

A key highlight was the launch of Vignettes of Baliyatra, a photo book showcasing the vibrant spirit of Baliyatra 2024 through a collection of stunning photographs. The images, captured by CHW member Kishore Bit, and the design, crafted by Aditya Prasad Ghosh, were highly praised. Both contributors were honored during the event for their dedication to preserving and showcasing Cuttack’s cultural essence.

Continuing its tradition of surprise destinations, CHW took participants to the Raghunath Jew Temple, a historic gem dating back to the 14th century. Attendees admired the temple’s intricate architecture and learned about its historical and cultural significance, further deepening their appreciation for Cuttack’s rich heritage.

The event was meticulously documented through photographs, videos, and written records to ensure its moments are preserved for future generations. A light snack session at the end fostered camaraderie among participants, reinforcing the sense of community central to CHW’s mission.
