Commissionerate Police Directs Apartment RWAs to Install IP-Enabled Cameras at Entry and Exit Points

Bhubaneswar: To strengthen security in apartment buildings across Bhubaneswar, the Commissionerate Police has announced plans to install Commissionerate Police Directs Apartment RWAs to Install IP-Enabled Cameras at Entry and Exit Pointsat key entry and exit points of residential complexes. The new guidelines, issued today, call for the cooperation of Residents’ Welfare Associations (RWAs) to ensure smooth implementation of the initiative.

The IP-enabled cameras will be connected to the Commissionerate Police’s central control room, enabling real-time data sharing to enhance surveillance across the city’s apartments. All footage captured by these cameras will also be sent directly to ACP KK Hariprasad via mobile at 7606066766, as specified in the guidelines.

The decision to install these security cameras follows a spate of loot incidents in the Bhubaneswar and Cuttack regions, with 65 cases registered in 2024 alone. The Commissionerate Police has already apprehended 29 individuals connected to recent apartment theft cases and has established a special team to further investigate these incidents.

Residents with information or grievances regarding thefts are encouraged to contact the Commissionerate Police directly via WhatsApp at 7077798111.

The Commissionerate Police anticipates that the new security camera system, in collaboration with apartment residents, will be instrumental in deterring criminal activity and ensuring a safer environment for all residents.
