CM Naveen Patnaik Attends Kalinga Super Cup 2024 Final, Applauds Football Development in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik, graced the Kalinga Super Cup 2024 Final between Odisha FC and East Bengal FC at the Kalinga Stadium today. He extended his best wishes to the teams during the lineup ahead of their crucial match.

Expressing his joy at the successful hosting of the Kalinga Super Cup 2024, Chief Minister Patnaik stated, “It gives me immense pride to say that Odisha has successfully hosted yet another marquee tournament at the Kalinga Stadium. Being able to host 16 teams simultaneously and providing them with top-notch facilities signifies that Odisha is making positive strides in football. We aim to further strengthen our partnership with AIFF and support football development in India.”

He added, “My best wishes to all the participating teams and everyone involved in making this tournament a huge success. I am sure all the teams, players, coaches, and officials had a memorable experience in Odisha.”

The Kalinga Stadium witnessed an electrifying atmosphere during the match, with the crowd’s cheers echoing throughout. Enthusiastic fans of both Odisha FC and East Bengal FC contributed to the vibrant ambiance.

The Kalinga Super Cup, which commenced on January 9th in Bhubaneswar, has garnered an encouraging response from players, coaches, and fans. Odisha has been commended for creating a holistic football ecosystem that benefits the sport and fosters its development at the grassroots level.

In collaboration with AIFF & FAO, the state has undertaken various initiatives, including coaching and training programs, and the development of quality infrastructure to promote football at the grassroots level. With the launch of the AIFF-FIFA Talent Academy in the state and hosting top national and international football events, the popularity of football is on the rise in Odisha.
