CM Mohan Charan Majhi Emphasizes People-Oriented Budget

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, in a significant move aimed at aligning government priorities with public expectations, chaired a crucial review meeting of the Planning and Coordination Department on Tuesday. During the meeting, the Chief Minister underscored the need for a people-oriented budget that effectively addresses the aspirations and needs of the citizens of Odisha.

Expressing confidence in the new government’s ability to meet public expectations, Chief Minister Majhi stressed the importance of ensuring that government schemes and initiatives reach the grassroots level. He emphasized that the forthcoming state budget must reflect these priorities and deliver tangible benefits to the people.

A key highlight of the meeting was the Chief Minister’s directive to allocate funds for establishing trauma care centres in districts with mining activities. He specifically emphasized the urgent need to set up trauma care facilities within district medical colleges to cater to the healthcare needs of the local population.

Furthermore, in accordance with the party’s resolution, Chief Minister Majhi instructed the Planning and Coordination Department to set up a task force for the formation of the North Odisha Development Council and South Odisha Development Council. These councils are envisioned to play a crucial role in regional development and addressing specific local issues.

Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Administrative Secretary Anu Garg, along with senior officials of the Planning and Coordination Department, provided detailed briefings to the Chief Minister on the department’s operational frameworks and ongoing initiatives.
