New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday reiterated the Odisha Government’s commitment to inclusive and holistic development while preserving the State’s cultural identity. Speaking as the Chief Guest at the Odisha State Day celebrations during the 44th India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025, he urged people to unite in the mission to build a “Developed Odisha by 2036”.
The Chief Minister said that the theme of this year’s IITF reflects Odisha’s aspirations for growth and innovation. Highlighting the State’s progress in advanced manufacturing, he noted that Odisha is emerging as a key player in producing silicon semiconductor chips and other micro-products by leveraging modern technology. These advancements, he said, will strengthen the economy and generate new employment opportunities.
He further told the media that the government is prioritising renewable energy, ecological restoration through large-scale plantation drives, and climate-friendly policies aimed at ensuring a healthier future for coming generations.
Majhi emphasised that Odisha’s forward-looking policies—whether promoting global investment through Utkarsa Odisha: Make-in-Odisha Conclave, showcasing youth-led innovations on international platforms, or positioning Shree Anna (millets) globally through the International Millet Convention—have drawn widespread appreciation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the State Day celebrations at Amphitheatre-1 by lighting the ceremonial lamp. He also released special editions of Utkal Prasanga and Odisha Review. During his visit to the Odisha Pavilion, he interacted with artisans, weavers, and stall exhibitors, encouraging them to uphold Odisha’s heritage while contributing to the State’s journey towards self-reliance.
The cultural segment featured Odissi, Pashumukha, Sambalpuri, Singha, and Ghumura dance performances by troupes representing various districts, reflecting the diversity of Odisha’s artistic traditions.
