Chintan Shivir 2025 Inaugurated in Udaipur to Drive Women and Child Development Initiatives

Udaipur: The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MoWCD), Government of India, inaugurated its Chintan Shivir in Udaipur, Rajasthan, today, marking the beginning of a three-day event focused on advancing women’s empowerment and child welfare. Annpurna Devi, Union Minister for Women and Child Development, officially opened the event in the presence of Minister of State Savitri Thakur, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, and Deputy Chief Minister and Women and Child Development Minister  Diya Kumari.

Union Ministers, State Ministers, and senior officers from the Centre and States are participating in the Chintan Shivir, which aims to facilitate collaboration and exchange of best practices across regions to enhance the impact of government initiatives.

In her inaugural address, Annpurna Devi emphasized India’s commitment to “women-led development,” a concept spotlighted during its G20 presidency and carried forward with support from Brazil during its presidency in 2024. She said, “The global focus has shifted from ‘women’s development’ to ‘women-led development,’ and this Shivir will strengthen that vision through collective dialogue and actionable solutions.”

Savitri Thakur highlighted the Ministry’s achievements in empowering women and improving child welfare. “Our ongoing initiatives are bearing fruit, and this Chintan Shivir provides a platform to scale up successful practices for greater impact,” she said.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma expressed pride in hosting the event, calling it a platform for transformative dialogue. “Rajasthan is honored to host this Shivir, and we are committed to supporting national initiatives to ensure the welfare of women and children,” he said.

Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari shared insights into Rajasthan’s efforts in the sector. “The welfare of women and children has always been a priority for Rajasthan. This Shivir is a valuable opportunity to learn from each other and build a brighter future together,” she remarked.

The Chintan Shivir will feature engaging sessions on flagship initiatives such as Mission Shakti, Mission Vatsalya, and Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0. Key themes include women’s safety, child nutrition, and strengthening Anganwadi Centres. Presentations of best practices from States and Union Territories will focus on innovative solutions to pressing issues, driving scalable outcomes.

The event underscores the Government’s unwavering dedication to building a strong foundation for a Viksit Bharat (developed India). Intensive deliberations and knowledge-sharing sessions are expected to fine-tune government initiatives by incorporating innovative approaches and best practices.

The Chintan Shivir provides a platform for stakeholders to collaborate, share experiences, and learn from each other’s successes, aiming to accelerate welfare efforts for women and children across the country.
