Chief Justice Inaugurates Ayush Holistic Wellness Centre at Supreme Court

New Delhi: Chief Justice of India, Justice DY Chandrachud, inaugurated the ‘Ayush Holistic Wellness Centre’ at the Supreme Court of India today in the presence of esteemed Companion Judges of the Supreme Court. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Sarbananda Sonowal, Minister of Ayush and Ports, Shipping and Waterways, and Dr. Munjpara Mahendrabhai, Minister of State for Ayush.

During the inauguration, an MoU was signed between the Supreme Court and the All-India Institute of Ayurveda, outlining the collaboration for establishing, operationalizing, and providing expert services at the Ayush Holistic Wellness Centre.

Expressing his satisfaction, Justice Chandrachud shared, “For me, this is a satisfying moment. I have been working on this ever since I took over as CJI. I am a proponent of Ayurveda and a holistic lifestyle. With over 2000 staff members, we must look at a holistic pattern of living, not just for the judges and their immediate families but for the staff members too. I am deeply grateful to all the doctors of the All India Institute Ayurveda.”

Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Director-Secretary, and other senior officers of the Ministry of Ayush, along with Prof. Tanuja Nesari, Director of All India Institute of Ayurveda, were also present on the occasion.

The Ayush Holistic Wellness Centre at the Supreme Court is a state-of-the-art facility designed to provide holistic care addressing physical, mental, and emotional well-being. It aims to promote the overall health of the Judges and staff of the Supreme Court of India. Established with active participation from the All India Institute of Ayurveda under the Ministry of Ayush, the centre reflects a commitment to holistic well-being.

This initiative is a collaborative effort between the Supreme Court of India and the All-India Institute of Ayurveda, extending similar wellness centers to various locations such as LABSNA, Safadarjung, IIT, etc. The Ayush Holistic Wellness Centre at the Supreme Court is poised to become a hub for promoting a healthy and integrated lifestyle for the Judiciary, Judges, and other staff.
