Bhubaneswar: In a bid to enhance the wildlife experience and accommodate visitors with busy schedules, the Chandaka Wildlife Sanctuary, located near Bhubaneswar, Odisha, is gearing up to launch a night safari. The initiative is set to commence on January 29, allowing enthusiasts to explore the sanctuary after dark.
The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), Susanta Nanda, shared insights into the upcoming night trail, stating that many individuals face difficulties enjoying the sanctuary’s daytime safari due to work commitments. The introduction of a night safari extends an opportunity for visitors to witness the wildlife activities during nocturnal hours.
The night safari will provide a unique chance to observe and study nocturnal animals in their natural habitat. The sanctuary is home to diverse wildlife, including deer, wild boars, and elephants, offering a rich and varied experience for those interested in biodiversity and conservation.
The night safari at Chandaka Wildlife Sanctuary will be available for visitors until 9:30 pm. This extended timeframe aims to cater to a broader audience, making the sanctuary more accessible to individuals with various schedules. However, the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests clarified that there will be no safari facilities between 9:30 pm and 9:30 am.
While the night safari promises an exciting opportunity for visitors, the Forest Department emphasizes the importance of respecting the wildlife and maintaining the ecological balance. Strict guidelines will be in place to ensure the safety of both visitors and animals during the night trail.
