Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) national president, Jagat Prakash Nadda, launched the party’s election manifesto for Odisha on Sunday, urging the people to unseat the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government for the state’s betterment. Accusing the BJD of governance failure, Nadda asserted that it has faltered in all aspects of governance.
During the release of the ‘Sankalp Patra’, BJP’s manifesto for the upcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Odisha, Nadda criticized the BJD, alleging that the promises made by the ruling party over the years remain unfulfilled.
Nadda highlighted several issues, including the failure to provide irrigation water to farmers, low income among farmers, and the dismal state of the education system. He lamented the lack of teachers and infrastructure in schools and universities, attributing it to the BJD’s negligence.
Moreover, Nadda expressed concern over the rising incidents of violence against women in the state, blaming BJD leaders for their involvement in such crimes.
The BJP president also criticized the Naveen Patnaik-led government for its reluctance to implement key central schemes such as Ayushman Bharat Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), depriving millions of people in the state of essential facilities.
Highlighting the significance of the manifesto, Nadda underscored that it addresses the needs of various segments of society, including farmers, women, youth, and the underprivileged. He emphasized that the ‘Sankalp Patra’ is a meticulously crafted document compiled from numerous suggestions received from the people.
