BJP Reprimands Actor-MP Kangana Ranaut for Remarks on Farmers’ Protest

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday distanced itself from remarks made by actor and Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut, in which she controversially linked the farmers’ protest to unrest in Bangladesh. The party issued a public reprimand, clarifying that her statements do not reflect the BJP’s position.

In a statement, the BJP said, “BJP MP Ms Kangana Ranaut’s statement on the farmers’ protest is not the party’s stand. The Bharatiya Janata Party disagrees with the remark made by Ms Kangana Ranaut. Neither Ms. Kangana Ranaut is permitted to speak on policy issues of the BJP, nor she is authorised to do so.”

The party further instructed Ranaut to refrain from making such comments in the future, emphasizing its commitment to maintaining social harmony. “The Bharatiya Janata Party is committed towards social harmony as per the motto of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas Aur Sabka Prayaas’,” the statement concluded.
