
Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the upcoming Odisha Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unveiled its initial roster of candidates on Tuesday. The list comprises 112 nominees who will represent the party in various constituencies across the state.
Among the prominent names featured in the first list is veteran BJP leader Suresh Pujari, who has been nominated to contest from the Brajarajnagar Assembly seat. Additionally, Tankadhar Tripathy has been selected to vie for the Assembly polls from Jharsuguda constituency.
The BJP’s candidate lineup also includes several well-known figures from different spheres. Notable among them are Kusum Tete, who will be contesting from Sundargarh, and Jayanarayan Mishra, fielded from Sambalpur. Moreover, the party has nominated Biswaranjan Badajena for the Jatani seat, while popular actor-turned-politician Akash Dasnayak has been chosen as the candidate for Korei, Sidhant Mohapatra has been chosed to contest from Digaphandi.
In the capital city of Bhubaneswar, the BJP has put forward a formidable lineup, with Priyadarshi Mishra, Jagannath Pradhan, Arabinda Dhali, Babu Singh, and Prithiviraj Harichandan selected to contest from various constituencies including Bhubaneswar North, Bhubaneswar Central, Jayadev, Bhubaneswar Ekamra, and Chilika respectively.
