Bhubaneswar: The city is all set to host the annual Terracotta Exhibition from October 13 to 19 at the IDCO Exhibition Ground, bringing together hundreds of artisans and craft enthusiasts under one roof. The much-loved event will once again highlight Odisha’s traditional pottery and terracotta artistry, blending creativity with sustainability.
Visitors can look forward to a wide variety of handcrafted terracotta products, including decorative pieces, home décor items, and traditional Odia artifacts. The exhibition serves as an important platform for artisans across the state to showcase their talent, market their creations, and connect directly with buyers.
Organisers said the 2025 edition will place strong emphasis on eco-friendly practices, encouraging the use of sustainable materials and imposing a ban on single-use plastic packaging. Only handmade and locally crafted products will be allowed for sale, reflecting the state’s growing focus on green and ethical commerce.
The exhibition will remain open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., allowing visitors plenty of time to explore the stalls, interact with artisans, and shop for unique Diwali gifts. Around 500 artisan groups are expected to participate this year, including 18 groups from Khordha district alone.
Held annually ahead of Diwali, the Terracotta Exhibition has become a signature cultural event in Bhubaneswar, drawing large crowds and boosting the state’s handicraft sector. The event not only celebrates Odisha’s rich craft heritage but also reinforces the importance of supporting local artisans and preserving traditional art forms for future generations.
