Bhubaneswar Boy Sattwik Swain to Represent India at FIDE World Cup for Youngsters

Bhubaneswar: Sattwik Swain, a promising young chess talent from Bhubaneswar, has been provisionally selected to represent India at the inaugural FIDE World Cup for youngsters, slated to take place in Georgia from June 22.

The prestigious tournament will feature competitions across three age categories – under-8, under-10, and under-12 – in addition to separate Open and Girls categories, each with 48 participants.

Sattwik Swain has secured his spot in the under-8 category, showcasing his remarkable skill and dedication to the game. A trainee of ProChessTa (Professional Chess Training Academy), an initiative supported by the Odisha government’s Sports & Youth Services Department, Swain has been honing his talents under expert guidance.
