Bhubaneswar: In a significant tribute to the visionary architect of the Indian Constitution, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced the renaming of the newly constructed Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) in Baramunda. The terminal will now bear the name “Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bus Terminal.”
Acknowledging Dr. Ambedkar’s pivotal role as a social reformer and his tireless efforts for justice, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik emphasized the enduring impact of the Father of the Indian Constitution on the nation. Dr. Ambedkar’s commitment to fostering equality and inclusivity remains a guiding light for generations.
To immortalize his legacy, a dedicated 900-square-foot gallery will be established within the bus terminal. The gallery will showcase a copy of the Indian Constitution and personal artifacts belonging to Dr. Ambedkar.
Encompassing an extensive 15.5 acres, the Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bus Terminal is poised to become a central transit point, serving not only the residents of Odisha but also those from neighboring states.
