Badminton prodigy from Arunachal Pradesh wins International C’ship

Itanagar: A seven-year-old badminton prodigy Geto Sora from Arunachal Pradesh has clinched the U-9 boys singles title in the ongoing Yonex-Singa BTY Championship-2022 at Bangkok in Thailand on Monday.

A native of Nari village in Lower Siang district, Geto defeated third seed Phukit Chantarangsee of Thailand in straight sets of 20-11 and 20-11 to clinch the title.

He started playing at the age of four and so far participated in many events.

he first participated in the Dorjee Khandu Memorial State Badminton Championship in 2019  win the ‘most promising player’ title.

He won bronze medal in U-11 category at state level junior ranking championships (boys’ singles event), held on February 19-21, 2021.
