Bhubaneswar: Amid concerns and rumours over fuel availability, Odisha Chief Secretary Anu Garg on Monday reviewed the stock and supply of LPG, petrol and diesel in the state at a high-level meeting held at Lok Seva Bhawan.
Senior officials of the Odisha Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department and representatives from major oil marketing companies — Indian Oil Corporation, Hindustan Petroleum and Bharat Petroleum — attended the meeting. Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh was also present.
During the review, officials informed that Odisha currently has adequate stocks of LPG, petrol and diesel. Oil companies assured that supplies from refineries and depots to distributors, petrol pumps and institutional consumers such as hospitals and educational institutions are continuing smoothly without any disruption.
The Chief Secretary advised people not to panic or engage in unnecessary fuel hoarding, reiterating that sufficient stock is available across the state. She also directed oil companies to maintain a balanced and efficient supply chain to ensure uninterrupted availability at retail outlets.
To prevent misinformation, Garg instructed the department and oil marketing companies to regularly share verified updates on fuel availability through media and public communication channels.
Oil companies were also asked to submit daily reports to the state government regarding fuel stock positions and the information being shared with the Central Government.
