Statue of Netaji to be installed at India Gate, Sculptor Adwaita Gadanayak from Odisha to make it

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday announced that a statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose will be installed at India Gate to commemorate his 125th birth anniversary.

In a tweet he made the announcement. He wrote-

Till the statue is installed, the hologram statue of 28 feet in height and 6 feet in width will be projected at the spot which will be powered by a 30,000 lumens 4K projector. An invisible, high gain, 90% transparent holographic screen has been erected which won’t be visible to tourists.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil the hologram statue on 23rd January.

The 28 feet granite stone statue will be sculpted by National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) under the guidance of Director General of NGMA and famous sculptor Adwaita Gadanayak.

“The Ministry of Culture has assigned the responsibility to NGMA. The design of the statue will be finalised soon. Black granite stone to be used for the sculptor. The stone will be brought from Telangana,” shared Gadanayak.

Gadanayak is known for his sculptor works using granite stones. He had sculpted the National Police Memorial in New Delhi in 2018. The famous ‘Dandi March’ stone work installed at Rajpath is also his creation. 

“The  work will soon begin as we plan to finish the work before 15th August. The statue will be installed to mark the 75th Independence Day this year,” he informed.
