Karanjia: Panchpir Women’s Degree College marked the closing ceremony of its 20-day self-defence training program for the 2023-24 session, which began on September 23. The initiative, designed to empower young women with essential self-defence skills, received positive engagement from students.
Dillip Kumar Prusty, Principal of Karanjia Junior College, and Bharati Raj, an ICC member and livelihood expert at ITDA, were the guests of honor. Both speakers highlighted the significance of self-sufficiency and independence for young women in today’s society. Presiding over the ceremony, Panchpir College Principal Pranati Barik encouraged students to assert their rights and emphasized the critical role self-defence skills play in personal safety and empowerment.
N.S. Payal, English lecturer and program coordinator, introduced the guests and expressed gratitude to the trainers, Shibani Behera and Leeza Naik, for their guidance throughout the program. Certificates were awarded to the participating students, celebrating their commitment and dedication.
The event saw attendance from faculty across various departments, including Anil Charudarshi, Sebati Prusty, Priyadarshi Ghana, Chinmayee Mohanta, Banaja Naik, Trupti Mohapatra, Mamata Mohanta, Khyanaprabha Naik, Nilakantha, Gourisankar, and Millamani, making it a memorable conclusion to the empowering program.
