Bhubaneswar: In anticipation of the formal launch of the Odisha government’s flagship women empowerment programme, the ‘Subhadra Yojana,’ Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, who also oversees the Women & Child Development Department, unveiled a dedicated web portal for the scheme on Monday. The newly launched portal — www.subhadra.odisha.gov.in — will serve as the official platform for disseminating comprehensive information about the initiative.
Speaking to reporters, Deputy CM Parida emphasized that the information provided on the portal is both official and authentic. “The portal includes all necessary details such as eligibility criteria, application procedures, and an option for applicants to lodge grievances,” she said.
From September 4, women across Odisha can register for the Subhadra Yojana, free of cost, via the portal. The scheme is set to be implemented over a five-year period, spanning from the 2024-25 to 2028-29 financial years.
The Odisha government has allocated ₹55,825 crore for this ambitious programme, which aims to provide financial assistance to women across the state. Beneficiaries will receive ₹10,000 annually, disbursed in two installments, directly into their bank accounts.
In a special announcement, Parida revealed that the first installment of payments will be transferred on September 17, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, marking the official launch of the Subhadra Yojana. The scheme is expected to make a significant impact on the lives of women in Odisha, enhancing their financial stability and empowerment.
