Bhubaneswar: Responding to the earnest request from Nursing, Pharmacy, and Allied Medical Students for a stipend increase, Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik has given his approval for the enhancement of stipend amounts. Recognizing the pivotal role these students play in healthcare services, the Chief Minister has sanctioned revised stipend rates, effective immediately.
Following this enhancement, students in various categories will receive stipends per month as outlined below:
D.Pharma: Rs. 500
ANM: Rs. 2000
B.Sc (N) (Internship): Rs. 5000
M. Phil in Clinical Psychology: Rs. 10,000
M.Phil in Psychiatric Social Work: Rs. 10,000
Previously, students in these categories received stipends at the rates of Rs. 250 for D.Pharma, Rs. 1000 for ANM, Rs. 2500 for B.Sc (N) internship, Rs. 7000 for M. Phil in Clinical Psychology, and Rs. 7000 for M.Phil in Psychiatric Social Work.
Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik expressed optimism that this stipend enhancement would serve as a motivating factor for students to provide even better healthcare services to the people. He anticipates that this move will further fortify the healthcare infrastructure in Odisha.
During a recent visit to MKCG medical college, 5T Chairman VK Pandian received requests from students to increase the stipend, further emphasizing the importance of this decision.
It is worth noting that the Health & FW Department of the Government of Odisha offers various Degree and Diploma Courses, including B.Sc. in Nursing, Auxiliary Nursing & Midwifery (ANM), Diploma in Pharmacy, M.Phil in Clinical Psychology, and M.Phil in Psychiatric Social Work in government institutions. Stipends are provided to students during their education period, during which they actively contribute clinical services at health institutions.
