Mumbai: The long-awaited finale of ‘Bigg Boss 17′ unfolded on January 28, 2024, concluding the gripping season with the announcement of stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui as the ultimate winner. The grand finale, hosted by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, witnessed intense competition among the top five finalists – Munawar Faruqui, Ankita Lokhande, Mannara Chopra, Abhishek Kumar, and Arun Mashettey.
As the clock struck midnight on Sunday, Salman Khan declared Munawar Faruqui as the triumphant contestant of the 17th season. The finale was marked by high-energy performances, special guest appearances, and emotional moments with the families of the finalists in attendance.
The finalists had endured over 100 days of challenges, tasks, and eliminations to reach the pinnacle of the reality show. The last three contenders vying for the winner’s trophy were Abhishek Kumar, Munawar Faruqui, and Mannara Chopra. Arun Mashettey was the first among them to be evicted, leaving Ankita Lokhande among the top four contestants.
The season commenced on October 16, introducing contestants like Aishwarya Sharma, Neil Bhatt, Isha Malviya, Sana Khan, Rinku Dhawan, Sunny Arya, Khanzaadi, Soniya Bansal, and others. The grand finale featured performances by many of these contestants, except Anurag Dobhal, Khanzaadi, and Aoora.
The grand prize for the winner included ₹50 lakh in cash and a brand-new Hyundai Creta car. Notably, this season broke tradition by not offering a cash prize to any finalist to drop out of the competition.
Contestants’ families added an emotional touch to the grand finale, appearing on the show to support and cheer for their loved ones. Vicky Jain’s mother, known for gaining social media attention, especially after her recent appearances on the show, was present to support Ankita Lokhande.
Munawar Faruqui’s victory marked the culmination of a season filled with drama, emotions, and strategic gameplay, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the next edition of ‘Bigg Boss.’
